The 1st Committee of Bagahangai District of the capital city was first established in 1992 in accordance with the Law on Administrative Territorial Units of Mongolia and its Management. The commune has an area of 8.0 thousand hectares and is located in the hillen steppe region with Sergelen Sum of the Central Province in the north-east and north, Bagahangai District No. 2 commune in the east, and Bayan Sum in the Central Province in the southeast.
The district has an area of 6,000 hectares and is located along the Bagahangai, Baganuur, and Zamyn-Uud railways for 86 km from northwest to south. It is connected to the district center by a 7 km paved road. Fully connected to the central power system.
